Care - Children
At CHS, children are cared for and they care for others in their local community, the nation and the world.
Childcare workers and volunteers provide a safe and nurturing environment for children in the crawler nursery, toddler room, twos room and preschool rooms on Sundays, Wednesdays, Thursday morning and during special services. We staff each area with at least one childcare worker who has been background checked and Red Cross certified in Infant and adult CPR and first aid. Ministry teams serve children in the nursery, Wee Worship, Kids’ Praise, Club 56, and Wednesday Night Live! Please call Lynne Florin at 772-4915 x29 to volunteer. We welcome your active involvement.
Children care for others in a variety of ways. Many accept a daily challenge to apply the Sunday School lesson to themselves and their family/neighborhood. Five times a year, children have a multi-age Sunday and make a project to benefit victims of a natural disaster, single parents, or widows. WNL! offers “crafts with a mission” where children share scripture with the local community through a hand-made gift. During VBS, children respond to three challenges – one local, one for other children, and one international.
